In Genesis, the story of Abraham seeking a bride for his son, Isaac, is clearly a prophetic picture of how God, the Father, desires a bride for His son, Yeshua.  Abraham represents God the Father, who sends His servant, Eliezer, representing the Holy Spirit, to his family, representing Israel (and those grafted in) for His son, Isaac, a type of Christ.  And, Rebekah is a spiritual picture of the Bride of Christ.

Abraham clearly instructed his servant to not go to the Canaanites, a picture of the world (and those of the world), but to seek a bride for his son from among his family or own people.  This clearly demonstrates this was not a calling out for salvation amongst the heathen. Abraham instructions were clear to his servant to take a wife for Isaac from among his kindred (family or body).

We are reminded in Galatians 3:16-29:

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made, He saith not, And to the seeds as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ... And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.  Galatians 3:16,29 KJV

Spiritually, all true believers in the Messiah are the spiritual seed of Abraham and members of his family.  In Romans 4:16 it tells us Abraham is the father of our faith.

Abraham makes his servant swear to not take a wife from among the Canaanites because the Canaanites represent spiritual idolatry. This is true for Yeshua's bride as well.

When God gave the Torah to the children of Jacob at Mount Sinai, he instructed them to totally destroy the Canaanite culture, to not serve there gods, and to not make marriages with them.  If they did, he warned God's judgment would come upon them. Deuteronomy 7:1-4 says:

When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them; Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.  For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods; so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

In the same way, God will not marry a bride who lives according to the world and follow after other gods.

Abraham's clear instructions directed the servant where he could find his son a bride in Genesis 24:10:

And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

Genesis 11:27 tells us, Nahor was the brother of Abraham and the city of Nahor, in Mesopotamia was located in Babylon. Spiritually, this is a prophetic picture that the Bride of Christ will be taken from Babylon.

Babylon is a picture of the world, and spiritual idolatry.  This Bible story shows us God's bride coming out of Babylon, and Yeshua is calling her out to follow Him to the spiritual promised land, Zion.

Revelation 18:2 tells us:

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird...  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Dear Rebecca,

Yes this article was helpful to me,

Also I am wondering, Is the Bride of Christ the Ancient Church of East in Iraq, the only church of its kind in the world, being driven out now through violence.
