Bridal Bath Salts
This makes a wonderful gift or favors for a bridal shower! Or, just something to have on hand for soaking in the tub and in God's presence!
What You Will Need:
1 cup Bath Salt
1-3 drops of four different essential oils (Rosemary, Sage, Lavender, Rose or other favorites)
4 drops of food coloring (choose 3-4 different colors)
4 resealable containers
Jar with Lid
Measuring Cups
Spoon
What To Do:
1. Place ¼ cup of bath salts equally into four containers with sealable lids.
2. Add 1-3 drops of Rose essential oil (or another fragrance) to the first container then, add 4 drops of red food coloring. Replace lid and shake to mix well.
3. Next, add 1-3 drops of Sage essential oil to the second container then, add 4 drops of green and 2 drops of yellow food coloring. Replace lid and shake to mix well.
4. Add 1-3 drops of Rosemary essential oil to the third container then, add 4 drops of green food coloring. Replace lid and shake well to blend.
5. Finally, add 1-3 drops of Lavender essential oil to the fourth container of salts then, add 3 drops of red and 4 drops of blue food coloring and shake well.
6. On separate sheets of wax paper, spread out colored bath salts to dry for several hours. When completely dry, you are ready to layer each color in a pretty container. If you live in a humid area, you may want to speed up the drying time by spreading salts on a cookie sheet and placing in an oven on warm (or just a pilot light).
7. When completely dry, you are ready to layer each color in a pretty container. First, Rosemary, Lavender, Sage and Rose on top. If giving as a gift, add a pretty ribbon or raffia for decoration. You may also want to include a tag including each fragrant/color meaning: Rose (red) symbolizes covenant, (or if you chose to leave Rose (white) symbolizes purity, Sage (light green) represents good life and health, Lavender symbolizes devotion, and Rosemary represents lasting friendship and remembrance. Makes 8 ounces.
